Hello world!
Today I'm starting a blog about my life as a step-mom, soon-to-be-mom, and housewife.
Let me give a little biography on myself (For those who may interested in knowing..)
I'm 26 years old. I've been married to Lucas for 2 years (June 22nd.) My husband, Lucas has 2 daughters from previous relationship(s). Allyson (11) and Audrey (9).
I have 3 older siblings: Trent (35), Abbey (31), and Ethan (28). My mother pulled my older siblings out of public school when my brother, Ethan, was in kindergarten and decided to home-school all four of us.
Growing up as a homeschooler was not easy for me. I always longed to have friends and go to school and ride the bus everyday. My Mom did her best to get us socialized by taking us to swimming lessons at the local YMCA and joining a local homeschooling organization that took us on field trips and such.
My parents, siblings and I also raised and bred Labradors. It was probably the best time of my life raising little Labradors! To this day I wished we still did something like that.
I eventually bought my first horse, Bamboo! She was very spirited and I enjoyed riding her but sadly lost interest in riding after a scary incident riding her.
But! We kept her and bought another horse, Harry to keep her company. We brushed, fed, watered and took care of them as if they were very large pets that kept the field at an appropriate length. There's nothing more relaxing then watching horses grazing and flicking there tails at those pesky flies.
When I was 11, I joined the Hannibal Hurricanes Swim Team -- which not only helped me socialize with other kids my age; but helped me exercise and be apart of a team. I also dabbled in horseback riding and piano. When I was 14 I quit the swim team and tried Volleyball (The saints) for a couple of years. I enjoyed it quite a bit and met a lot of great people.
When I was almost 15 I got my first job as a dishwasher at a local cafe in downtown Hannibal (Jumping Frog Cafe). It was just a short term summer job but I enjoyed it and it was character building. Not long after I joined the food service life as a busser at a local restaurant
Fiddlestiks. I worked there for
NINE years!! I left a lot of good friends (basically family) to join the
Servpro team. It was quite an adjustment and definitely different than what I was use too!
I worked there up until recently. When I found out I was pregnant and with summer looming .. I decided that I wanted to stay home and grow a baby and take care of my step-daughters for the summer.
I think that brings us pretty well up-to-date with my life. It doesn't really give you an idea of myself personally as far as interests and in-depth details -- i'm sure those little details will pop up here and there throughout my blogging experience.
This blog is really just a diary of my day to day experiences. I'm sure that my random findings of recipes, movies or my latest obsession that I find on Netflix. (right now it's
Supernatural!)
'Til then Cheers!
